1. What we collect

Contact info you hand us — when you join the waitlist, get matched, or set up an account: your name, email, phone, company, and the same for any colleagues you add. If you give us info about other people, we're trusting that you have their okay to share it.

Vehicle and import info — VINs, photos, and anything needed to prepare documents or submissions to authorities like NHTSA and CBP.

Usage and device info — basics your browser sends (IP address, browser/OS, the pages you visit and when), plus approximate location and time zone.

Anything you choose to give us — for updates, notifications, or in messages and social links you share.

Cookies — small files that remember things like your language. You can turn them off in your browser, though some features may stop working.

2. Why we collect it

To set up and run your account, match you with a registered importer, and move your import along.

To talk to you — answer questions, send the notifications you asked for, and (if you opt in) the occasional product update. You can unsubscribe any time.

To improve the product, keep it working, and keep it secure.

To meet our legal obligations.

One thing we can't promise: that any compliance package or NHTSA application will be approved, or that it's in the exact form an authority wants.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

Service providers who help us run VIN2 (for example, payment processors like Stripe and Mercury Bank) get only what they need, and are expected to protect it to a comparable standard.

We may share information when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, to protect people's safety or our rights, or in connection with a sale or merger of the business.

If you post information in a public area of the platform, other users may see it — we can't control what happens to it after that.

4. Your choices and rights

You can review, correct, update, or delete your information by signing into your account or contacting us.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, though doing so may limit what you can use.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to be forgotten, to data portability, or to restrict how we process your information. To exercise any of these, email us at admin@vin2.com.

We use cookies to recognize you, remember preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. Cookies usually don't hold personal info on their own, but they can be linked to info we already have about you.

We operate in the United States and may process, store, or back up your information in the U.S. or other countries. By using VIN2 you agree it may cross borders as needed to provide the service.

Our site may link to third-party sites and resources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their privacy practices — give their policies a read before sharing anything.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect when you use the site is the one that applies, so it's worth checking back now and then.
